GT Management had a succesful season with new accomplishments thru the year. Athletes´ Representative Hans Üürike talks about some of the highlights of the Olympic Year. Physically challenging but very rewarding I was freezing in a tent on mountains in Morocco, when a text message arrived on that cold night in April: “Fedrick took the world lead with 68.02m”. Of course I woke up at 3200m altitude, came out of the tent and started working on this. Fedrick Dacres competed in La Jolla and won the meet with new PB and WL of 68.02m, our athlete Daniel Stahl was second with 66.42m. Awesome emotion and I will remember this moment for the rest of my life – sending out fantastic press releases in the middle of nowhere and climbing the highest mountain in North-Africa (Toubkal 4167m) the next morning.   136th athlete to throw over 21m Tim Nedow had nearly a perfect indoor season in 2016. I did not have to be on mountains to remember his accomplishments during those 2 months. Tim improved his indoor PB to 21.33, which makes him the 136th shot putter in the event history to throw over 21m. Tim also won the IAAF World […]

GT Management on top of Northern Africa

by GT Management in Hans Üürike 0 comments tags: Personal Best, Training
Hans Üürike is the man behind Global Throwing Management – he is an athlete representative to 20 athletes from 11 different countries. Hans is the guy who sits behind the computer and organizes meets, flights, camps, sponsorships etc for our athletes. But he is no ordinary boring office guy, as he is constantly participating in all sorts of marathons. Last week he took the next step and was on a trip in Morocco, where he climbed the highest mountain in Northern Africa. It took him 4 freezing nights in a tent on a mountain and many acclimatizations hikes to climb 4167m Jebel Toubkal. Hans commented that it was physically challenging but very rewarding when reaching on top of the Atlas Mountains. He said that climbing mountains is like succeeding in athletics. All it takes is just a lot of time, but if you move on a steady pace and are focused on the goal, you will get to the top. Hans said that his adrenaline reserve is now full for some time. But actually he has already planned to hike on some of the highest mountains in Brazil during his trip to Rio 2016 Olympics. You are a crazy man, Hans! […]

4 athletes at World Championships from our management

by GT Management in Daniel Stahl, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, Hans Üürike, Mark Dry, Sanna Kämäräinen, Shot Put, Tim Nedow 0 comments tags: Beijing 2015, World Championships
Four athletes from our Global Throwing Management group will participate in the WC in Bejing coming up in ten days. Tim Nedow CAN will compete in the shot put and has so far had a very steady season with many meets over the qualification standard of 20.45m. His SB is 20.78m and PB is 20.98m. Today we got good news as Daniel Ståhl SWE will also compete in the discus and he got in on a wild card last minute due to the rule that IAAF invites top 32 to participate as not all had reached the qualification standard of 65m. Daniel has thrown 63.38m this season but has a PB of 66.89m since last year. Sanna Kämäräinen FIN threw 61.07 already in the early season in March. During summer, she has been travelling around Europe and competing on a high-level. Mark Dry GBR improved his PB to massive 76.93m and holding on to 20th position at the world season list. We are really happy to see our athletes competing in Beijing and wish you all long throw. Enjoy the meet and have fun! Hans Üürike GT Management
